I’m a Bachelor of Communications student currently in my third (and final!) year, studying a double major of Journalism and Public Relations at the University of Newcastle. I moved here after being born and raised in regional New South Wales.
Joining The Marketing GP team in late 2017, I jumped straight into my role as Client Services Coordinator. I have studied and completed work experience in related fields and my involvement in sectors such as tourism, event management, radio, customer service and local advertising, makes me a great fit in this role. I love being part of such a close team and I’m excited to see what the future holds!
I’ve certainly learnt a lot in my role already but I still find it difficult to answer the question “so what is it you do?” The short answer is, a little bit of everything!
My main passion and focus is on writing and I love that I get the opportunity to write across a wide range of genres! Our focus is to write in the ‘voice’ of our clients, which means my skill set is increasing rapidly.
I also manage social media, not only creating content to push out, but ensuring we interact with the public and respond to any queries or comments. Being an avid social media user in my personal life, this is another part of the job that I have a lot of fun with – if you ever see a post on our social media with a pun or lame ‘dad joke’ in it, you can bet it was me who wrote it.
Within the team, I usually take the lead in Pinterest, YouTube and our in-house marketing. I’m second in charge for Instagram, having researched and written about features relevant to the platform, like hashtags and stories.
Other areas I undertake include website management, client liaison, event preparation and delivery, marketing strategy planning, image design and so much more!
Outside of work my passions include cooking, travel and writing, but I also enjoy being physically and socially active. I love all things music and am always up for a concert or festival. In my down time, you can find me either binge watching new tv shows, or rewatching some of my old favourites like Friends.
After completing my Bachelor of Business (Leadership and Management and Marketing) at the end of 2018, I moved straight into my role as a client services coordinator in January of 2019.
My role as a client services coordinator includes a wide variety of tasks which change daily depending on our client’s needs. So far, I have developed written content for a range of businesses, worked on social media campaigns, managed web platforms and email marketing. Every day is fast paced and different, which has allowed me to learn so much already and I continue to do so each day.
In my spare time I like to eat pizza (sans pineapple), watch science fiction television, try out new recipes, hunker down with a good fiction novel, and relax at the beach with family and friends.
After completing my Certificate III in Business Administration in 2018, I jumped straight in to studying a Certificate III in Design Fundamentals. I was even more excited when I secured my role as Marketing Support Assistant for The Marketing GP at this time.
My role includes a wide variety of tasks, and I am constantly learning and developing my skillset. My specialty is definitely graphic design, and I enjoy creating and designing graphics and advertisements for businesses of all kinds. I have marketed my own presence as an illustrator on social media, and I love to use my experience to help other businesses further their presence on social media too.
After four years’ experience in customer service, I have developed a love of working my hardest to provide the client with the best possible result and meeting each and every one of their expectations.
My interest in the arts has been a lifelong passion, and I have been seriously invested in improving my skills for many years now, and I have developed a strong eye for detail.
Outside of the workplace my interests include creative writing, true crime, tea and spending time with my loved ones.
