Marketing Internship Program

Supporting your first step into marketing.

We created our Marketing Internship Program to help people studying marketing and communication degrees get ahead after they complete their studies.

With most jobs asking for a number of years of experience, on-the-job knowledge, or practical insight, it leaves new grads with a challenge to fit the mould quickly to secure a role. So we’re giving you a leg up!

If you are part way through or almost finished your marketing or related discipline qualification or degree, our Marketing Internship Program can give you access to vital real-world experience without leaving Newcastle.

Our internship program runs for six weeks with interns undertaking one day of work per week at our HQ, unless it is part of a university or TAFE course, then we align the program to work within the parameters of the course.

Gain a boost in your marketing career through our internship program.

At TMGP we are passionate about supporting people who are soon to kick off their career in marketing. Our Marketing Internship Program gives you the opportunity to work with a team of marketing generalists and specialists on a range of marketing tactics. You can learn from professionals in the industry, work with clients from a range of industries, and try your hand at a number of marketing tools to find out what you like best.

Every internship we offer is different, and it really comes down to your interests.

If you want to try everything, a generalist experience might be perfect for you. Write copy, contribute to strategies, attend meetings or photoshoots and prepare social media. However, if you know the path you want to follow, we can work with you to create the right journey.

Creating opportunities is what we do best.

Our company has been providing students and graduates with marketing internship opportunities since forever. However, we wanted to formalise our approach and develop a structured internship program to give more people the opportunity.

This has long been a goal, but the passing of the late great Meg Purser is one of the many reasons we’ve decided to get this up and running. Meg was a professional communicator within our local area, and a mentor to many, including our Chief Marketer, Holly Martin. Meg paved the way for working with the next generation in the Hunter region and was known for showing students where theory meets the practical side of things.

Our Communication Specialist, Brodey Corbett, was also lucky enough to be mentored by Meg. Brodey is our Internship Ambassador and has taken on the role of coordinating our interns alongside Holly. She is the go-to person for our internship program.

Each year we award our Meg Purser Scholarship to help fund your education.

As part of our Marketing Internship Program, you will also be eligible to apply for the Meg Purser Scholarship which is awarded twice a year to an intern who demonstrates:

For us, this means that the memory of Meg, and how she helped so many young students will live on. But for you, it means you have the opportunity to receive a scholarship to help with education fees. It will be a once off payment that can be used to support you in your studies, or further career development if you’re at the end of your degree.

At the end of the internship, you may apply to be considered for the scholarship. As part of your offboarding with us, we will provide you a link to the form you need to fill out to be considered.

Holly and Brodey will then review the applicants from each half of the year, and reach out to award the recipient. Alongside this, you will also receive a letter of recommendation.
