Helping Queensland bariatric clinic, Dr Scott Whiting, increase patients and revenue for their business.

Dr Scott Whiting is North Queensland’s only sub speciality trained Upper GI and bariatric Surgeon. The clinic offers a range of weight-loss solutions and supportive programs to help change people’s lives.

As the clinic expanded their service offering, they were looking to grow awareness of their practice and to bring on new leads. They also wanted an effective way to announce their progressive move to become one of only a few clinics to offer the Allurion Gastric Balloon in Australia.

The situation

Dr Scott Whiting and his team are brilliant at what they do and are commended in the industry for their approach. They needed that trust and brand perception carried across to people looking for a solution to their weight and health.

Their goal was to reach a wider audience in their local region and bring in leads for both their bariatric services and their new specialised Allurion Gastric Balloon service, which was brought to market in 2021.

They had already worked with us on a range of other marketing activities, but now wanted to partner with us to deliver results with a strategic digital advertising campaign!

The plan

Creating a digital path to improve the health of the business

We took a deep dive into the business to identify their primary target market, the patient decision making journey and the touchpoints in their current sales process. This allowed us to pull together a digital approach and key messaging for their target personas. Digital advertising is an extremely targeted and cost-effective way to reach new audiences and generate leads, and it was perfectly aligned to the goals of the business.

We developed an effective ads funnel which helped bring leads to the business which were at two stages of the decision-making process – early in the research phase and further along into making a decision about weight-loss surgery and their service provider.

We delivered a digital marketing strategy which combined an effective Google Search Ad campaign, impactful Meta ad campaign and supporting digital material, including branded e-guides, HubSpot powered forms and landing pages.

Equipping the team with the tools and resources to convert

As part of our marketing services, we helped the team to gain confidence and have the marketing and sales material needed to effectively convert leads into paid consultations, and finally into paid services.

As health practitioners rather than sales reps, they needed the tools and support to effectively implement a sales process they were comfortable with delivering time and time again. And importantly, tools which supported their commitment to providing quality of care and attention to their patients.

We helped the team by providing scripting for their communication, created branded marketing material and providing ongoing support on their sales processes to enable their business to more effectively convert.

The results

As a result, we’ve generated more than 50 per cent more leads for the business! Our Google Ads campaign cracked a healthy 16 per cent click-through rate and drove more than 50 per cent more people to the website.

Many marketers consider a click-through rate of three per cent to be a good outcome for health-based services, so this result was exceptional for the client – performing more than 500 per cent better than regular search campaign averages.

The client is now benefiting from new leads to contact every day. And they are empowered to turn these leads into paying patients using the sales enablement tools we’ve provided.
