Creating a digital identity to give Rubicon a competitive edge

Helping Rubicon Solutions to grow through a simple, yet effective, website that ticks all the boxes

Rubicon Solutions is a trusted asset management provider based in Newcastle that delivers exceptional services to customers in the civil, mining and quarry industries. Fred Haynes, the Director, came to us looking for a website that would position Rubicon Solutions on the front foot for future growth.

Having generally relied on word-of-mouth from his existing client base and a growing professional network on LinkedIn, Fred wanted to make it easier for potential new clients to understand the value of Rubicon Solutions’ asset management services. A digital identity – a website – was the obvious solution.

Fred was exploring options to create his own website when he was referred to The Marketing GP. Having viewed examples of our previous digital identity development portfolio, Fred needed little convincing to come on board.

The situation

Fred’s goal was to launch a user-friendly and easy to navigate website that clearly demonstrated who they are, what they do, why use Rubicon, and how to get in touch. Nothing with too many bells and whistles, just a functional, well-presented and professional website.

But first, Rubicon wanted to be clear on their visual identity by working with us for their brand guide.

From idea to fruition, we brought Rubicon Solutions’ vision to life.

The solution

Developing a brand that is modern and instantly engages Rubicon’s target audience

Whilst Rubicon had an existing logo, our team of experienced brand designers developed a brand guide which incorporated a primary and secondary colour palette, a main and secondary font, and relevant brand elements.

The red tone choice is designed to portray energy and action, contrasted against subtle grey and white colourings to grab people’s attention instantly.

Developing a practical website that informs and ignites action

The website design for Rubicon Solutions was based around practicality. The key messaging is effective, the structure is easy to navigate, and incorporating HubSpot software ensures leads are captured and acted upon quickly and easily. The website landing page delivers a straightforward summary of Rubicon’s offerings using targeted key words and a call to action. Subpages provide a deeper level of detail and the menu structure makes navigation based on user need simple.

The brand is woven into the layout of the site, the colouring and the language to create a holistic experience to any interaction with Rubicon Solutions. The site is designed to be secure, device friendly and was built on WordPress, allowing it to grow and evolve as the business’ digital needs do.

The content began with the client’s starting points and The Marketing GP’s copywriters finessed the content for search engine optimisation. This exercise was focused on giving Rubicon’s potential clients a clear understanding of their direct business message and their available offerings.
