Christmas Tree Hire was established in 2009 by Gai Alder to provide the ultimate Christmas experience to corporate and individual customers. Their goal is to eliminate the stress of the silly season by simplifying the home or business decoration process.
The business offers an all-inclusive package where you can hire your tree and decorations and their team will install, decorate, and pack up the tree when you’re finished for the year.
While the business had grown organically over the years prior to coming on board with us, Gai was looking to expand her reach and streamline her booking processes. She wanted an external marketing team who had experience working with small businesses and could bring fresh ideas to her company.
After running into our Chief Marketer, Holly Martin on a regular basis at networking events, Gai reached out to our team to learn more.
Following a strategy meeting, we developed and implemented a plan for Christmas Tree Hire to help increase their brand awareness, streamline their processes and leverage their company as the number one Christmas tree hiring business in the Hunter.
We strategically reviewed her current marketing channels and tools at the time and implemented foundational elements to ensure the business’ marketing was streamlined every year. Some of these elements included:

Increased email marketing activities to encourage bookings earlier in the year and remind clients when the time comes around again.
An updated social media strategy to improve their digital presence and showcase the fantastic work of their team year-round.
Regular blogs and case studies to demonstrate their team’s expertise in Christmas and the reviews from their clients.
When the busy booking period of October-December comes around, we implement a digital advertising strategy to increase brand awareness and target specific industries, based on the trends of the new year.
One of Gai’s biggest pain points was managing the number of bookings and enquiries she receives, particularly in the busy October-December period. Our team suggested using Inbound Marketing tool, HubSpot’s various features to assist with managing the booking enquiries and data.
Since 2020, bookings have been processed through HubSpot forms, with all the booking and contact information stored in the one place. This has allowed Gai to keep track of return businesses and contact them in the future to secure early bird bookings in future years.
While this only scratches the surface of the impact that this system has had on Gai’s business, it has significantly improved their ability to service their customers and reduced the heavy admin load.
Our team continues to work with Christmas Tree Hire to deliver a full suite of marketing for her business. Since working with us, they have seen an influx and increase of bookings which continues to steadily rise every year.
In addition to increased social media followers and website traffic, in 2021 they took on 77 new clients, which was a 20% increase from 2020 and increased this number AGAIN by 20% in 2022.
